Invisalign Clear Braces
The Invisalign® Clear Braces treatment consists of a series of clear removable aligner sets that straighten teeth without metal wires or brackets. Each aligner is custom-made, using Dr. Frank‘s expertise and Walden Dental’s CEREC 3-D dental imaging system. This technology enables you to view the projected results even before you commit to treatment.
Many people are born with crooked teeth. For a variety of reasons, they may not have gotten braces as children, and avoided orthodontics as adults. Tooth alignment issues that could have been remedied at an early age often result in crowded teeth or a maloccluded bite later in life. And these can lead to more severe problems like tooth grinding or Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ).
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic system for tooth straightening. The patented aligners are made from clear smooth plastic, and they fit comfortably over the teeth — just like a mouth guard. Unlike conventional metal braces, Invisalign braces do not chafe or irritate your mouth. And, since they are removable, they are easier to clean and don’t prevent you from eating the foods you like and drinking your favorite beverages.
Better Than Conventional Metal Braces
This patented system of clear braces straightens your teeth without the ungainly look and nuisance of conventional metal cemented-on braces. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. This keeps your teeth clean and avoids demineralization (white spots) on the teeth.
The first set of aligners straightens teeth into a slightly better position. Subsequent aligner sets move the teeth another incremental step closer to the desired final position Dr. Frank has prescribed.
You’ll visit your Invisalign dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure that the procedure is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 6-15 months. The average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 12 and 30. But both will vary from case to case.
Advantages of Invisalign Braces
- More Attractive than Metal Braces – Aligners are transparent, and do not call attention to the fact that you are having your teeth straightened. This is especially beneficial for teens (and adults) who are in situations where personal appearance is important.
- No Dietary Limitations – You remove your Invisalign braces for meals, so you can still have your favorite foods and drinks. But, to avoid getting food particles between teeth and the aligner, we recommend brushing and flossing before putting the Invisalign back in place.
- Simpler Dental Care – Since the transparent teeth straightener is easy to remove and replace, it promotes regular oral hygiene and dental care. Patients can maintain their normal brushing and flossing routine. And the aligner is easy to clean prior to replacing it in your mouth.
Invisalign Cost and Dental Insurance Coverage
The cost of Invisalign treatments is comparable to that of conventional braces. Typically patients make a down payment, followed by monthly installments over the course of 6-15 month treatment schedule. This enables us to provide clear braces at a price that fits virtually any budget.
Many health insurance plans cover Invisalign treatments just like conventional braces. Ask your benefits manager about the specific details of your orthodontic procedures coverage. Your insurance may reimburse up to $3500 of the total Invisalign cost. And, if you have a Flexible Savings Account – FSA or Health Savings Account – HSA, this expenditure will be made with pre-tax dollars.
Walden is affiliated with a large group of insurance providers. For the convenience of our patients, we bill the insurance company for the Invisalign costs and track your claims. Walden offers a variety of payment options including credit/debit card, HAS/FSA cards, cash, cashiers and personal checks. And if you do not have insurance, we have an In-Office Dental Plan.
