Same-day Crowns

Revolutionize Your Smile: Discover Same-Day Crowns at Walden Dental

At Walden Dental, our team is proud to say that we rarely have to refer our patients to specialists or other offices. We have everything they need in-house at our well-appointed office in Austin, Texas. Technology “powers” these advanced treatments and capabilities. In fact, we can even make many dental restorations “same day” in just one visit, including dental crowns.

Why would I need a dental crown?

There are many ways a tooth can become damaged. Normal “wear and tear” over time. An untreated cavity. Large or old fillings. Fractures or cracks. These and other forms of damage can erode the structure of your teeth. A filling may be inadequate to restore the strength and structure of the tooth. In these cases, a dental crown may be just what our dentist, Dr. David Frank, orders.

Same Day Crowns at Walden Dental

What do you mean by a “dental crown”?

Our teeth are made up of natural crowns. The crown is the white part of the tooth. We can replace that portion of the tooth when it is weakened by decay or other damage. We do so with highly durable and aesthetic materials, such as ceramics like porcelain.

How are crowns placed?

The crown is generally designed to fit on top of the damaged tooth. It is secured to the tooth after the natural tissue has been cleaned out (decay removed) and reshaped.

Can you make these crowns at your office?

Yes! We can provide a “same-day” crown service because we have eliminated the outside lab. We have all the software and equipment to plan, prepare, design, fabricate, place, and refine the crown in-house and in just one appointment. At other offices, it would require at least two visits to complete the process and get your crown. Plus, it would take at least a couple of weeks for an outside lab to make the crown. So, you have a lengthy wait and, during that time, must also wear a fragile temporary crown. You can avoid these headaches and hassles by partnering with us!

How does it work?

We use computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques (CEREC) and 3-D imaging to first collect information about your mouth. We can then make a virtual “model” of your tooth. That model is then used to design your permanent crown on-site. This design is transferred to our in-house milling machine, which shapes the crown from a block of the highest-quality dental ceramic. Then, the crown is secured as long as everything looks and feels great. We can make adjustments and even re-make the crown in minutes.

Do same-day crowns fit and hold up as well as other crowns?

Yes! In fact, we give “conventional” crowns a run for their money. We have eliminated the potential human error associated with traditional messy and goopy impressions used to fabricate crowns at outside labs. This and our highly durable and aesthetic ceramics support a precisely made and precision-fit crown. You also can’t beat the quality control supported by handling everything “in-house.”
